The EmmyWatch watch database is one of the largest watch databases online and we have collected, compiled, and shared all of the data to anyone who wants to use it on our website, all for free.
Find information about a movement including dimensions, lift angle, power reserve, mainspring size, hand size, balance staff reference numbers, and more. See the list of parts for a watch movement and cross reference a hard-to-find part with more popular movements to more easily track down parts. Date a watch by serial number from several popular manufacturers.
Perfect for watchmakers and watch restoration professionals or anyone curious about their watch.
How to use
Simply visit the EmmyWatch watch database search page and start searching. You can search for watch movements, case references, etc. If you’d like to browse the list of manufacturers you can do so here.
For example, if searching for an Omega 561, here is an example of some of the information you will be provided with. The ligne, jewels, lift angle, etc, as well as a visual representation of the movement and size, if the movement is round it will show as a round movement in the image, for example.
Lift angle can be used to set your timegrapher so you may accurately measure amplitude.
The hands show you the dimensions of the hands the movement uses, starting from the largest to the smallest sizes, so in this example the hour hand hole is 1.5mm in diameter, the minute is 0.80mm, and the second is 0.18mm. This way you can easily find replacement hands.
Finding Ronda Balance Staffs
In addition to general movement information you can also find ronda replacement balance staff numbers for a movement. Ronda balance staffs are much easier to source and one can usually still find ronda balanace staffs for rare or very old movements. Once you open up the page for your movement, scroll down and find the “Balance Staff Listing” section.
Below is the balance staffs available for an Omega 561. The Omega 561 was only ever released with the Incabloc shock system so only one entry is shown. If the movement was created with multiple shock systems (for example the Longines 23z), then you must select the staff number suited for the shock system in your movement.
Cross Reference Parts
If you would like to find our part numbers or cross-reference parts to see what other movements they are used in, you can also do this within the database!
Below is a partial screenshot of parts available for an Omega 561. The Omega 561 is from the line of popular Omega automatics that started with the Omega 550. So, often maybe parts will be compatible between our Omega 561 and, for example, an Omega 552, an Omega 564, or even an Omega 752. Click on the part you want to cross reference and you will be taken the the part page which will show you other movements it is used it.
Now you can source parts from different movements and be sure they will fit once they arrive!
