How to buy a part
So, you know the watch part you need. Now, how do you buy it? Let’s take a look in 3 steps below:
1. SEARCH THE DATABASE
Use the EmmyWatch watch database to search for the movement/case/etc you are interested in. For example, if I was looking for a part for a Universal Geneve 285 movement I would type “Universal Geneve 285” into the search box. (Typing just “Universal 285” would work too!). Once the search has found results, select the result and go to the movement/case/etc page.
2. FIND THE PART, SELECT “BUY”
Once you’ve arrived at the movement/case/etc page, look for the part you are interested in. For example, if I was looking for a stem for the Universal Geneve 285, I would look in the movement parts section. Select the Buy button (in this case, “Buy part”) for the stem. After selecting the Buy button, we will do a live search through our retail partners to try and locate the part for you to buy. Some parts will be easy for us to locate but other parts will be difficult due to their rarity.
3. PURCHASE FROM RETAIL PARTNER
f we have located parts, like in this example where we get a few options, it’s best to pick the ones that explicitly say “Compatible with …”, this means we are fairly confident the part will work. In this example we see the top 2 listings should work. The top listing is a Universal Geneve 285 stem, and the second listing is a Tissot 26.9-21 stem which we have identified as being compatible with the Universal Geneve 285 and will also work. Select “Go to listing” to complete the purchase of the part with our retail partner (in this example, eBay).
