The Unitas 283 is an open face calibre watch movement with a setting lever positioned between the plates. During the setting process, this lever protrudes from the movement and the crown needs to be in the winding position for the movement to be uncased. It features a bimetallic screw balance with two adjustment screws. The movement offers options such as a Breguet hairspring and Reed's regulator. It is worth noting that this movement family, including variants I and II of the Cortebert 474, has been subject to experimentation. The functions of the Unitas 283 include stem winding and setting, as well as a sub-second display. The movement was predominantly used around 1910.
