Return To ShopThe Unitas 279 is an open face mechanical watch movement with a cylinder escapement. It features an early two-section regulator for coarse and fine adjustment, and a ratchet on the dial side. The movement also has a hidden crown mechanism with a rocker bar. The backside is painted in a golden color. The old designation for this movement is Unitas 279, but it is now known as the Kienzle 41. This is the only cylinder calibre produced by Kienzle, and it bears similarities to the Haller EOS design, suggesting a possible origin from the Thomas Ernst Haller AG, which was acquired by Kienzle in 1928. The movement offers stem winding and setting, as well as a sub-second function. It was used during the approximate period of 1940.
