The Oris 290 watch movement was produced between 1935 and 1967, with a total production of fewer than 16,000,000 units. This movement did not have a separate escape-wheel cock. Although there were various balances used in this family of movements, the differences were small enough to allow for interchangeability of parts. Not much is known about the specific differences between the 970, 980, 987, 999, 1014, 1036, 1047, 1056, 1090, 1210, 1217, 1251, 1254, 1276, 1375, and 1386 calibres. Additionally, there are calibres with a height of 3.0mm that appear similar. The Oris 290 movement features manual winding, a sub-second function, and was utilized between 1935 and 1967.
