The Mido 1117PC watch movement, developed and used from 1967 onwards, is the smallest ever industrial manufactured automatic movement in terms of diameter. Its only competitor in terms of size is the Omega 660, which has a 12% smaller volume but a 14% larger diameter. Despite this, the Mido 1117PC movement features a relatively large balance and low profile thanks to its strangely indirectly driven minute. Notable functions of this movement include automatic winding, Incabloc Shock Protection, and the absence of a second hand.
