The Jaeger Lecoultre 488 watch movement is an open face calibre available with either a pin or pallet lever option. It features a stop- and split-second function implemented with pillar wheels. In cases where the pallet lever option is chosen, the movement is equipped with a barrel containing Geneva stopwork. Additional functions of this movement include a timer rattrapante with 60-second precision (0.2 seconds accuracy) and a 30-minute duration, facilitated by a pillar wheel. An optional variation grants a timer rattrapante with 30-second precision (0.1 seconds accuracy) and a 15-minute timespan. The movement also contains an addition timer, can be wound via the stem, features a sweep second hand, and includes a jeweled lever. It was used in watches produced around 1980.
