Return To ShopThe General 82A watch movement is a manual winding movement with sub-second functionality. It features a pin-lever escapement and a ratchet mechanism located on the dial side, along with a crown mechanism that includes a rocker bar. The movement is built on a two-layer base plate. The specific differences between the Oris 259, 260, and 262 are not known. While Flume's listing designates the Oris 262 as having a pin lever, the Oris 259-261 are listed with a Swiss lever. The escape wheel visible in the Oris 259 drawing confirms the latter. However, it is worth noting that other registers typically list all calibers in this family with a pin lever, and no samples with a Swiss lever have been observed yet. The General 82A movement was commonly used around 1945.
