The train and hand gear are driven separately by the barrel, with the train being driven by the eccentric minute wheel and the hand gear being driven by the minute pinion running on post C and the friction-coupled cannon pinion on it. The design of the movement allows for a low profile but necessitates high precision due to the numerous wheels involved in the coupling between the second and minute hand. Notably, provisions for shake-free transmission commonly found in more expensive movements are not present in the ETA 2769-1, resulting in a slight play when set. This movement offers manual winding capability and was utilized around the year 1975.
