The A. Schild 1681 watch movement was initially introduced in 1948 as the first automatic movement with a ball-bearing rotor. Later iterations of this movement featured different rotor shapes. The A. Schild 1681 is equivalent to the ETA family 1216-1218 movements, albeit without the inclusion of a ball-bearing system. This movement offers various functions, including automatic winding, sweep second hand, and has been in use since its introduction in 1948.
