This 1960s Leonidas (Heuer) Big Eyes Chronograph example is a show-stopper. The watch features a beautiful silver/white dial with a wonderful numeral script (check out the 6, 12, and 7!), a reflective silver band just inward of the second track, dual “big eye” chronograph registers for easy legibility, and stunning bronze leaf hands. Did I mention those stunning bronze hands? Yes? Ok, well they are worth mentioning again, wowww! The case features square blocky pushers that give that quintessential vintage chronograph feel during operation. The watch features a new acrylic crystal, delicately cleaned dial and hands, a beautiful new beads-of-rice bracelet custom fit from Curated Wrist, original case, and a Leonidas Landeron 248 movement that has been overhauled and restored to OEM specs. The watch is in beautiful restored condition as per our extensive restoration and authentication process.

This Leonidas Big Eyes Chronograph features an overhauled and restored original Landeron 248 hand wind cam-drive lateral clutch movement that is so clean you could eat your lunch off of it. The watch runs at 18,000 vph and the chronograph tracks seconds and minutes up to 30. The movement is manual wind and has a good power reserve. The watch is 35mm in diameter but does wear slightly larger due to its shape, large crown, and chunky chronograph pushers. The watch takes a 18mm strap. The adjustable beads-of-rice bracelet will fit wrists up to 7.5″ comfortably.

This watch was released right around the time (early 1960s) that Heuer bought Leonidas and started releasing watches that were branded as Heuer-Leonidas which makes it an interesting piece of horological history.
